20,799 new COVID cases in India; Active infections in the country lowest in 200 days

New Delhi: According to the Union Health Ministry, the daily cases of coronavirus in the country remained below 30,000 for the tenth day in a row while 20,799 fresh infections were recorded in a single day, while the active cases declined to 2,64,458, the highest in 200 days. is less. With the fresh cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases in India rose to 3,38,34,702, while the death toll rose to 4,48,997 with 180 fresh fatalities, updated at 8 am. According to the given figures.

The ministry said that active cases comprise 0.78 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 97.89 per cent, the highest since March 2020.

The active COVID-19 caseload has registered a decrease of 6,099 cases in the 24-hour period.

India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20 lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on 23 August, 40 lakh on 5 September and 50 lakh on 16 September.

It crossed 60 lakhs on 28th September, 70 lakhs on 11th October, 80 lakhs on 29th October, 90 lakhs on 20th November and one crore on 19th December.

India crossed the grim milestone of 20 million on 4 May and 30 million on 23 June.
