Amid rush to arrest son in Lakhimpur violence case, MoS Ajay Mishra calls Ashish ‘innocent’


LUCKNOW: Union minister Ajay Mishra, whose son is facing a murder case in connection with the October 3 violence in Lakhimpur Kheri, on Friday said his son was “innocent” and asked the Uttar Pradesh Police on Saturday to record his statement. will appear in front.

He said that Ashish missed the police summons at 10 am on Friday as he was not feeling well.

The Union minister said, “We have full faith in the law. My son is innocent. He got the notice on Thursday but he said that he is not feeling well. He will appear before the police tomorrow and give his statement and evidence as he is innocent. ” State for Home told reporters at Chaudhary Charan Singh airport here.

On the constant attack on him by the opposition and demand for his resignation, the minister said, “The opposition has asked for anything.”

The minister’s son is named in the FIR in the Lakhimpur violence that took place on October 3, in which eight people, including four farmers and a journalist, were killed.

The police asked Ashish to appear before him at 10 am on Friday, but he dropped the summons.
