Assam will implement NEP from April 2022: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Dispur: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the state government will implement the New Education Policy (NEP) from April 1, 2022.

He said that according to the news agency ANI, this process will be completed by the end of March next year.

Chief Minister Sarma said, “The state government is gearing up to implement the New Education Policy (NEP) from April 1, 2022. Under the NEP, all high schools will be upgraded to senior secondary schools. The government will upgrade the educational infrastructure. educational institutions for the purpose within one year.”

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Sarma said, “The State Government after coming to power has resolved to provide employment to 1 lakh youth of the State. Keeping this promise, the State Government today started the recruitment process and soon Only advertisements will be published for several thousand jobs in the education department apart from conducting TET.”

He also distributed appointment letters to 767 candidates in various Directorates of Education Department at Shrimant Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati.

616 applicants were appointed out of 767 candidates under the Directorate of Elementary Education, 32 under the Directorate of Secondary Education. 113 nominees were nominated under the Directorate of Higher Education and six were elected under the Directorate of State Council of Educational Research and Training.

Speaking about the NEP and additional tools in the education department of the state, the minister said that the state government would continue to implement new provisions of the policy every year to bring about a transformational change in the education department over the next five years.

Science, Mathematics and English will be taught in English language and rest of the subjects in mother tongue. Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu also addressed the program.
