New Delhi: The National Conference suffered a major setback in Jammu as two of its prominent leaders Devendra Rana and Surjit Singh Salathia quit the party on Sunday (October 10, 2021). The reason behind his resignation is not clear.
National Conference spokesperson tweeted, “Dr. Farooq Abdullah has received and accepted the resignations of Mr. Salathia and Mr. Rana. No further action or comment is considered necessary.”

Rana, who was the provincial president of the NC’s Jammu region, had indicated in the past few days that he would quit the party.
Meanwhile, party General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar has issued a notification regarding the elections for the post of Provincial Presidents for Jammu and Kashmir to be held on October 16, 2021.
Senior leaders Chaudhry Mohammad Ramzan and Ali Mohammad Dar have been named as election officers for Kashmir province and Sheikh Mustafa Kamal and Anil Dhar for Jammu province.
