BSP MP Danish Ali urges PM Modi to set up medical college, hospital under Jamia Millia Islamia


New Delhi: BSP Lok Sabha MP Kunwar Danish Ali on Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to accept the long-standing demand of Delhi-based Jamia Millia Islamia to set up a hospital and medical college under it.

In a letter to Modi, the Bahujan Samaj Party leader said the “dark scars” of the second wave of Covid will be long lasting and reminded of the poor medical infrastructure, which “has made us pay a very heavy price for ourselves”. preparation and unforgivable negligence”.

“As per the WHO report, the present challenge is not over and our health infrastructure is far from adequate, I request you to accept the long pending demand of the Central University of Delhi, Jamia Millia Islamia, to take up its 101 Celebrating its foundation day. The MP from Amroha in Uttar Pradesh said that this medical facility will not only help the large population of South Delhi and NCR but will also provide relief to the vast helpless population of Western UP.

Ali told that a huge land of Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department is lying vacant near the premises of Jamia Millia Islamia in Jamia Nagar area of ​​South Delhi.

He said that this plot may be allotted to Jamia Millia Islamia for construction of medical facility for the benefit of large population of Delhi and UP.

Ali said, “You will appreciate that Jamia Millia Islamia is a product of India’s independence movement and an embodiment of the idea of ​​India envisioned by the leaders of our freedom struggle. He said that the previous governments had promised a medical college on the campus several times, but the promise was never fulfilled.

“Therefore, I request you to kindly direct the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath ji to initiate the process of allotment of the said plot and make other necessary arrangements to realize the dream of high level medical treatment. The MP expressed hope that the Prime Minister would gift a medical complex to help serve the nation better on the occasion of the 101st Foundation Day of Jamia Millia Islamia.
