Budget 2021: IRCTC can soon serve ready meals to Indian railway passengers

new Delhi: In the forthcoming Union Budget 2021-22, the Ministry of Railways may suggest some measures which may increase the revenue of IRCTC manifold. The tourism and catering wing of Indian Railways is planning to take a new step to increase its revenue.

Under the new scheme, it can offer ready-to-eat meals on the lines of airline services. IRCTC has joined hands with companies like Haldiram, ITC, MTR, Vag Bakri and other big food brands to implement the scheme.

Once implemented, I.Passengers of the ndian railway will be able to enjoy ready-to-eat food Haldiram, ITC, MTR, Vag Bakri, and other big food brands.

The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is considering ways to compensate for losses in its catering business due to the COVID-19 epidemic situation.

The government is planning to implement this model in Railways as it has been successful in the airline industry.

according to sources, Railway Minister is keen to implement this scheme as soon as possible.

After its implementation, trains with the pantry system will terminate the contract and entrust the IRCTC with the responsibility of eating ready-made meals to the passengers.
