Caught on CCTV: Shopkeeper thrashed near Delhi, ribbed over Rs 1,800

Gaurav, a Faridabad shopkeeper, broke his ribs and suffered other injuries.

New Delhi:

A shopkeeper in Faridabad near Delhi was thrashed yesterday by a customer for demanding payment only for the service he was forced to provide. A CCTV camera in the area captured the incident and the footage has been shared widely on social media so far.

The footage shows the thug who left the shopkeeper, identified as Gaurav, grievously injured, especially in his ribs.

The accused customer, a man identified as Dinesh Bhadana, on Friday forced Gaurav, a resident of Faridabad’s Lakadpur area, to fix his power inverter, police said. When the shopkeeper took Rs 1,850 for his service after getting the equipment repaired, Bhadana got furious and left him.

Refusing to give the money, he beat up Gaurav badly. The victim’s father Umesh Kumar told the police that migrants are often made victims of such frauds.

The station in-charge of Surajkund, Faridabad said that Bhadana has been arrested in connection with the incident.
