New Delhi: The CBI on Monday began searches at the premises of former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh at several places. Officials gave this information.
He said searches were being conducted at Deshmukh’s premises in Nagpur and Mumbai.
The agency has not disclosed the case in which the search operation is on.
The CBI had registered a case against Deshmukh and some other unidentified persons for criminal conspiracy and “attempt to obtain undue advantage for undue and dishonest performance of public duty” under IPC sections related to the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The allegations against Deshmukh came to the fore after the removal of Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh.
