Narayanpur: An Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawan was injured in firing by Naxals in the insurgency-hit Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh on Friday.
The incident took place around 3 pm when constable Sandeep Kumar of the 53rd Battalion of ITBP was on duty at the mobile check post in front of his unit’s camp in Kohkameta village, a senior official said.
“A small action team of Ultras fired at the jawan, which resulted in firing. However, the militants fled the spot immediately. The constable sustained bullet injury near his left shoulder and was treated at the district hospital. He is out of danger. is,” said the officer.
He said that a search operation has been started to nab the culprits.
