Class 7 student thrashed to death by teacher in Rajasthan: Police

A case has been registered against him, the police said (Representational)

Jaipur:

A class VII student of a private school was allegedly thrashed to death by a teacher in Rajasthan’s Churu district on Wednesday.

He said that the accused teacher has been arrested.

Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasara expressed grief over the incident and directed the authorities to suspend the recognition of the school.

SHO of Salasar police station Sandeep Vishnoi said 13-year-old Ganesh was a student of class VII in a private school and was thrashed badly by the teacher for not completing his homework.

Vishnoi said he was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state where doctors declared him brought dead.

The accused teacher Manoj (35) has been detained and will be arrested, he said.

He said that a case has been registered against him.

Dotasara said that the police have started investigation into the matter.

“Authorities have been directed to suspend the school’s recognition till the matter is investigated,” he tweeted.
