CM Mamta inaugurates big ticket Durga Puja pandals, asks people to follow covid protocol


Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday inaugurated several Durga Puja pandals in the city for the third consecutive day and urged people to maintain COVID-19 protocols during the festive season.

He chanted shlokas invoking the deity at the Samajwadi Sangh Puja pandal in Ballygunge area, soon after the inauguration.

Banerjee requested everyone, “Please follow all the COVID guidelines, wear a mask while roaming in the pandals.”

Later, she went on to cover other big-ticket pandals such as Ekdaliya Sporting, Singhi Park, Falguni Sangha and Ballygunge Cultural.

The CM had inaugurated the Nakatla Udayan Sangha in South Kolkata among other pandals on the occasion of Mahalaya on Wednesday.
