India on Sunday reported 18,166 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest single-day increase in nearly seven months. There have also been 214 deaths due to coronavirus in the country. Active COVID-19 cases in India comprise 0.68 per cent of total infections, the lowest since March 2020 – the active caseload currently stands at 2,30,971, the lowest in 208 days.
The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.99 per cent, the highest since March 2020. With at least 23,624 being cured in the last 24 hours, the total number of cured people in India rose to 3,32,71,915. The daily positivity rate – the number of positive cases identified per 100 – stands at 1.42 per cent, down from 3 per cent in the last 41 days.

Tamil Nadu reported 1,329 fresh COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said on Sunday.
With this, the total cases of this virus increased to 26,78,265 including 16,130 active cases.
However, 35,783 deaths were reported in the state with 15 fatalities in the last 24 hours.
A total of 26,26,352 people have been cured including 1,436 people who got discharged from coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
According to the health bulletin issued by the state health department on Sunday, Kerala reported a total of 10,691 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
According to the department, 12,655 patients who have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours have gone up to 46,56,866.
With 85 more deaths, the death toll in the state has risen to 26,258.
