DA hike: Odisha government hikes dearness allowance of employees, pensioners by 11 per cent

New Delhi: In good news for the employees and pensioners of Odisha, the state government on Friday (October 8) announced an increase of 11% in Dearness Allowance (DA) to their bank accounts retrospectively from July 1, 2021. will be deposited.

The latest increase in DA of Odisha state government employees and pensioners comes amid the festive season which may increase expenditure during the festivities.

With the latest revision, DA has now increased by 11% to 28%. According to the announcement made by the Chief Minister’s Office, more than 4 lakh government employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners will benefit from this decision.

The enhanced salary will be credited to the bank accounts of employees and pensioners from October 2021. However, the Odisha government has decided to pay the DA arrears for the last three months in cash.

The recent hike in DA is similar to the move taken by the central government in early July this year. At that time the central government had announced an increase of 11% in DA and DR for central government employees and pensioners.

Along with this, DA and DR of Central Government employees and pensioners are paid at the rate of 28% of their basic pay. The central government is also now planning to increase the DA and DR of employees and pensioners by 3% in view of inflation. Read also: Beware!
