Delhi government employees who have not been vaccinated will not be allowed in office, read DDMA order here

New Delhi: The Delhi government announced that employees and teachers who have not received a single dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will not be allowed to go to their workplace. The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), in an order issued on Friday, said that with effect from October 16, all non-vaccinated employees of the Delhi government will be considered “on leave” till they are discharged.

All employees working in departments/autonomous bodies/PSUs/local bodies/educational institutions under Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi should get vaccinated by October 15. This includes frontline workers, healthcare workers as well as teachers and other staff working in schools/colleges.

“The above government employees/frontline workers/health workers/teachers and other employees working in schools and colleges, who have not received vaccination (at least the first dose) by October 15, may be allowed to attend their respective offices/health care institutions.” will not be given until the educational institutions receive the first dose vaccination from October 16,” the order read.

The order, issued by Delhi Chief Secretary and DDMA Executive Committee chairman Vijay Dev, said the central government “may consider issuing similar directions in respect of its employees working in Delhi.” Also, the head of the concerned department will verify the vaccinated employees through Arogya. Setu App or Vaccination Certificate, it said.
