Free spraying of Pusa Bio Decomposer started in Delhi from Monday

New Delhi: Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai will start free spraying of Pusa Bio Decomposer from Fatehpur Jat village in North West Delhi from Monday.

An official said the microbial solution, which can convert stubble into manure in 15 to 20 days, will be sprayed over 4,000 acres of rice fields in Delhi.

He said that a total of 844 farmers of the national capital have applied for free sprinkling of the solution this year.

Last year, it was used by 310 farmers on 1,935 acres of land.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had launched Pusa Bio-Decomposer Formula at Kharkhari Nahar village in south-west Delhi on September 24.

A third-party audit of the bio-decomposer has found that the amount of carbon and nitrogen in the soil in which it was used last year has increased significantly.

According to officials, Uttar Pradesh will use bio-decomposer in 10 lakh acres, Punjab five lakh acres and Haryana on its one lakh acres.
