New Delhi: Gold (24 carat) was selling at Rs 46,940 per ten grams in India on October 9, up by Rs 40 from the previous transaction.
According to Good Returns website, silver is selling at Rs 61,200 per kg, which is unchanged from yesterday’s market price.
Due to excise duty, state taxes and cost of production, the price of gold jewelery varies across India, which is the second largest consumer of the metal.
In New Delhi and Mumbai, 10 grams of 22 carat gold was being sold for Rs 46,050 and Rs 45,940 respectively. According to the website, the yellow metal was trading at Rs 44,130 in Chennai.
10 grams of 24 carat gold is being sold for Rs 50,240 in Delhi and Rs 46,940 in Mumbai.
Gold is being sold in Chennai this morning for Rs 48,140. Its price in Kolkata is Rs 49,000.
In the international market, gold was trading higher at $ 1,755 an ounce and silver was flat at $ 22.47 an ounce.
