India reports 24,354 new cases of COVID-19, 234 deaths


New Delhi: India reported 24,354 new COVID-19 cases taking its tally to 3,37,91,061, while active cases declined to 2,73,889, according to the data updated by the Union Health Ministry on Saturday. Went. As per the data updated at 8 am, the death toll rose to 4,48,573 with 234 fresh deaths.

The ministry said active cases comprise 0.81 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 97.86 per cent, the highest since March 2020.

A decrease of 1,335 COVID cases has been recorded in the total active cases in the 24-hour period. India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20 lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on 23 August, 40 lakh on 5 September and 50 lakh on 16 September.

It crossed 60 lakhs on 28th September, 70 lakhs on 11th October, 80 lakhs on 29th October, 90 lakhs on 20th November and one crore on 19th December. India crossed the grim milestone of 20 million on 4th May. 3 crore on 23rd June.
