BJP, providing shelter to criminals in Purba Medinipur, tells Trinamool Election Commission

Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress on Friday filed a complaint with the Election Commission accusing the BJP of harboring miscreants in parts of Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal for causing violence on polling day.

TMC Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien and Lok Sabha MP Kakli Ghosh Dastidar told reporters that they had “several reports about bringing the neighboring miscreants from neighboring districts and Kolkata to Purwa Medinipur before the election”.

Ghosh Dastidar said after meeting Election Commission officials, “We have information that the culprits are being brought to Patshpur, Egra, Bhagbanpur, Khejuri for serious disturbances. Many outsiders are staying in local houses. These electoral guidelines Is a violation of. “

He called for the deployment of additional central forces in the constituencies of the district where assembly elections will be held on Saturday.

“We have received information that in Kanthi (North and South), Bhagabanpur, Khejuri, Egra, Ramnagar and Patshpur, violence is being planned by the BJP on polling days as well as on polling days.” The ruling party in West Bengal said in a letter to the Election Commission.

Ghosh Dastidar also said that Khejuri’s TMC candidate was attacked by his political rivals on Thursday.

The Trinamool Congress has accused BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari of “harboring armed criminals” in Nandigram.

TMC also alleged that outsiders of the constituency have stayed at nine places there.

The party accused the local police of not taking any action against the BJP and demanded the Election Commission to intervene in the matter.

“We call you immediately and necessary steps are taken by the police to intervene immediately under your surveillance to catch all such armed criminals hired and harassed by Suvendu Adhikari,” the letter said.
