DEHRADUN: All the non-government officials appointed as chairpersons, vice-presidents and advisors of different commissions, corporations, councils and committees in Uttarakhand during the tenure of Trivendra Singh Rawat were removed from their posts on Friday.

An order issued by Chief Secretary Om Prakash stated that from March 18, 2017, all non-government officials appointed to such posts have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect.

However, this order excludes those ambitious people who were appointed for a fixed term during the term of the constitutional post.

More than 100 people were appointed as chairpersons, vice-presidents and advisors to various commissions, corporations, councils and committees of the state, besides being given a ministerial berth during Rawat’s chief ministership, which resigned on 9 March.
