According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold talks with Startups on Saturday and address a global summit organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Initially: The Department of Startup India International Summit is being organized by Ministry of Commerce and Industry from January 15-16 to promote industry and internal trade.
The PMO said in a statement that Prime Minister Modi will hold talks with the startup and address the summit on January 16 at 5 pm via video conferencing.
The two-day summit is being organized as a follow-up to the announcement made by the Prime Minister at the fourth BIMSTEC Summit held in Kathmandu in August 2018, in which India has committed to host the BIMSTEC Startup Conclave.
The summit marks the fifth anniversary of the Startup India initiative launched by the Prime Minister on 16 January 2016.
With participation from more than 25 countries and more than 200 global speakers, the summit will be the largest startup confluence organized by the Indian government since the launch of the Startup India initiative, the PMO said.
It states that 24 sessions will be focused on increasing multilateral cooperation and engagement with countries around the world and strengthening the startup ecosystem.
