Prince Philip of Britain ‘a lot better’ but to stay in hospital for treatment of infection

London: Britain’s Prince Philip is getting much better, after his youngest son said on Tuesday at Buckingham Palace that Britain’s Queen Elizabeth’s 99-year-old husband would remain in hospital for several days to be treated. Infection. Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, went to the private King Edward VII Hospital in London on Tuesday evening when he was advised by his doctor to be admitted after feeling unwell, and had spent seven nights there.

“She is comfortable with treatment and is responding to treatment, but is not expected to be out of the hospital for several days,” said Buckingham Palace. Both Philip and the 94-year-old queen, who have stayed at their home Windsor Castle in the west of London, received their first dose of the coronovirus vaccine and the Duke’s disease is not related to COVID.

Edward, the youngest of his four children, told Sky News, “As far as I know, he is much better … so he is quick to get out, which is the most positive thing.” Edward laughingly said that his father was depressed due to being in the hospital. “You can only see the clock many times and the walls are only so interesting,” he said. “We`ve had some lovely messages from all kinds of people and we really appreciate that and so he, I`ve been going through them.”

Upbeat’s assessment tells of Prince William, son of the heir Prince Charles, who said on Monday that his grandfather was “well, they were keeping an eye on him”. A recurrence of a bladder infection requires Phillip to undergo hospital treatment several times over the past decade, and he underwent an operation to clean a blocked artery in his heart following chest pain. His current illness comes at a difficult time for the Queen and the Monarchy when it was announced last week that William’s younger brother Prince Harry and his American wife Meghan were breaking all their official royal links.

Harry, 36, and Meghan, 39, stepped down from duty in March last year and the division was formalized on Friday, with the couple losing their fiscal protection. He has moved to Southern California with his son Archie to live a more independent life and avoid the British media, and will give a “comprehensive” interview to US chat show host Oprah Winfrey next month.

Philip’s hospitalization, which has been the queen’s confidant during his 69-year reign and deprives the Emperor of his counsel, the family’s protector.
