IPL 2021: KKR’s Harbhajan Singh opens up about his future in the Indian Premier League

One of the most decorated Indian spinners of our times, Harbhajan Singh reveals what could be in store for him Indian Premier League (IPL) in future. Harbhajan, speaking mid-match during his team Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) match against Rajasthan Royals, talked about the possibility of taking up a coaching role after ending his career as a player. Talking to the commentators, he casually said, “Don’t know if I will play further or not but enjoying my time at KKR.”

When asked whether he would take up coaching or mentorship in the future, Harbhajan replied:

KKR registered an impressive 86-run win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Thursday. KKR have qualified for the playoffs this season along with Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

With important matches coming up, Harbhajan could be a good option because of his experience of playing big matches first.


Harbhajan has played only three matches for KKR in IPL 2021. His wicketless figures have been a cause of concern for skipper Eoin Morgan, which has kept him out of favor.

Overall, Harbhajan has played 163 IPL matches for various franchises, taking 150 wickets at an average of 26.86 and an economy of 7.07.
