IPL 2021: “MS Dhoni Is Something Different,” Says Prithvi Shaw After Delhi Capitals Lost To Chennai Super Kings

Delhi Capitals did all they can to make it to the final of IPL 2021 but in the end all their efforts went in vain as MS Dhoni steals the victory of Chennai Super Kings With the knock of an old finisher. Dhoni remained unbeaten on 18 off just 6 balls and led CSK to their 9th IPL final. DC are however not out of the race for a place in the summit yet as they play in Qualifier 2.

DC may have lost a close match, but it was not all doom and gloom as their camp had some decent performances. Opener Prithvi Shaw shone with a quick half-century and scored 60 off just 34 balls to give his team a decent start. Talking about the match, Shaw said that he expects the team to come back strong.

“At this point in time, we have to support each other. The whole team takes responsibility for our performance, whether we win or lose. We will try and come back stronger in the next match. A tough loss for the team to digest. However, we have one more match through which we can qualify for the final and I believe in everyone in the team. They are all great players – talent and skill wise. I really believe that we We can do something special in this next match and move to the final,” Shaw was quoted as saying in an official Delhi Capitals press release.

When asked about MS Dhoni’s blistering 6-ball 18 in the death overs, Shaw said, “MS Dhoni is different, everyone knows it. We have seen him finish the game many times and it is for him.” Or is nothing new for us. To see him do it. He is definitely a dangerous player whenever he bats. I feel very fortunate to be in this environment and have him as a batsman and as a leader. Get a chance to see it. He took the game away from us.”

Shaw has scored 461 runs in 14 matches so far in IPL 2021 and he is the second highest run-scorer for the franchise this season.

Delhi Capitals will take on the winner of the Eliminator match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders in Qualifier 2 for a place in the final of IPL 2021 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah on Wednesday.
