Delhi Capitals were 80/4 in the 11th before Pant and Shimron Hetmyer shared an 83-run stand for the fifth wicket to revive the innings. In the last three overs, Delhi Capitals scored 31 runs and crossed the 170-run mark.

During this, CSK captain Dhoni said he played an ‘important’ innings But admitted that he was out of form in IPL 2021. “My innings was an important one. Delhi have a very good bowling attack. He took advantage of the conditions well, so we knew it was going to be tough. I haven’t done much in the tournament, so wanted to look at the ball and see what the bowler could do,” Dhoni said during the post-match presentation.
