Ishaan Kishan has given to Mumbai Indians start a flight In his last league match of IPL 2021 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Abu Dhabi. In doing so, the lesser wicketkeeper-batsman hit a half-century in just 16 balls, the fastest for a Mumbai Indians player in the IPL. Kishan had earlier held the record for the fastest half-century for MI along with Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard. Pollard had twice scored half-centuries in 17-17 balls by all three batsmen. It is also the fastest fifty of IPL 2021, which has weighed heavily on Pollard’s effort earlier this season.
The effort comes on a day when Mumbai Indians need to score a big total on the board and beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by a margin of 171 runs or more to make it to the play-offs. Kishan hit 8 fours and 2 big sixes to improve his own record.
The record for the fastest fifty in the IPL is held by Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul, who took just 14 deliveries to reach the milestone against Delhi Capitals in 2018.
Kishan’s effort is the joint third fastest 50 in the history of IPL.
