Chennai Super Kings management gave fans a very clear picture about MS Dhoni’s future with the Yellow Army. The management is confident that the CSK captain will play one more season before taking a decision on his future with the franchise.
The management also said that Dhoni’s farewell match will take place in front of CSK fans in Chepauk. “Think he would like to play his last match in Chepauk, which is very likely,” said a CSK insider. Indian Express in his report.
The development came as the talks of Dhoni’s retirement got bigger, with the wicketkeeper-batsman himself hinting at it during the ongoing edition in UAE.
Before CSK’s clash against Punjab Kings, when Dhoni was asked about his future in the game, the former India captain said: “You will see me in yellow next season but will I play for CSK, you Never know. There’s a lot of uncertainty coming in, two new teams coming in… we don’t know what the retention rules are and so on.”
The report further mentions that Dhoni has kept the CSK management in the loop regarding his future plans.
Dhoni retired from international cricket on August 15 last year, although he continues to lead the CSK unit. After a disappointing performance in the previous edition, CSK are back in their old groove and will next play Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2021.
