Srinagar: The five-day killing of a Sumo driver at Hajin in north Kashmir’s Bandipora, police claimed to have busted a module of TRF terrorists by arresting four terrorist associates on Sunday, while an Over Ground Worker (OGW) was involved in the killing. went into hiding and reportedly joined the terrorist ranks.
Earlier on October 5, in three separate incidents, three civilians – ML Bindu, a prominent Kashmiri Pandit businessman, Virendra Paswan, a non-local street vendor from Bihar and Sumo driver Mohammad Shafi Lone were shot dead by terrorists.
While Bindru and Paswan were killed in Srinagar, Lone was shot dead in North Kashmir’s Bandipora.
A police officer said that a special police team was formed to investigate the murder of Naidkhai (Bandipora), president of Sumo Drivers Association, at Hajin, Bandipora, on October 5. “After thorough humanitarian and technical confirmation, the TRF terrorist organization involved in the murder of Module Lone was busted by arresting four terrorist associates of the organisation.
The arrested people have been identified as Tariq Ahmed Dar alias Tariq Khaucha, Mohammad Shafi Dar, Mudasir Hasan Lone and Bilal Ah Dar alias Sahab Khaucha.
“However, one of the terrorist associates involved in the murder has been identified as Imtiyaz Ah Dar alias Kotru, who is absconding and has reportedly joined the terrorist ranks,” the official said.
He said that the investigation found that the murder was carried out at the behest and direction of TRF handler Lala Umar resident of Pakistan.
“The module thoroughly tracked the target and all movements were closely monitored,” the official said.
He said that on the evening of October 5, one of the terrorist associates called the victim for a meeting at Gundboon in Hajin. “An elaborate ambush/trap was already laid by other members of the module and when Lone reached the spot, he was swiftly murdered.”
According to the official, more arrests are likely.
