The opposition on Sunday called the Lakhimpur Kheri incident reflecting the “brutal (brutal)” ideology of the BJP, demanding the resignation of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Congress said that Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi is also going to Lakhimpur Kheri. Expressing deep anguish, Channi said the “horrific and inhuman act” should be condemned in the strongest possible terms by all, and urged his UP counterpart, Yogi Adityanath to bring the culprits to book so that justice is ensured to the families of the victims. Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav said the BJP’s “suppression” in UP was enough, and that he had only one demand from the state government: Adityanath should resign.
