Jaipur:

Batti Lal Meena, the alleged mastermind of the Rajasthan Teachers Eligibility Examination for Teachers-2021 (REET) paper leak case, was arrested along with another person in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand on Sunday.

A team of Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police led by Inspector Mohan Poswal arrested him and Shivdas Meena from Kedarnath, an official statement said.

Responding to the development, BJP MP Kirori Lal Meena alleged that Batti Lal Meena is just a pawn and SOG did not have the courage to arrest those conducting and monitoring the examination.

“SOG has arrested Batti Lal, but he is just a pawn in the REET paper leak case. The masterminds are the ones who are at the helm of conducting and monitoring the examinations. SOG does not have the guts to lay hands on him. So without Neither the truth will come out of the CBI investigation nor the arrest of the culprits.

The BJP has been demanding a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the recently conducted Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (REET).

BJP’s state unit president Satish Poonia had earlier alleged that the main accused Batti Lal Meena is a Congress worker and his picture with the party’s state president Govind Singh Dotasara was being circulated on social media.

Mr Dotasara had denied the allegations saying that he did not even know Batti Lal Meena.

The Rajasthan government has suspended one RAS and two RPS officers, 13 education department personnel and three policemen in the case.
