Mamata Banerjee to attend all-party meeting on Afghanistan crisis


Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Monday that representatives of the ruling Trinamool Congress in the state would attend an all-party meeting called by the Center to discuss the Afghanistan crisis.

NS Center has called an all-party meeting on August 26 To discuss the situation in Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover.

“We will definitely attend Thursday’s all-party meeting on Afghanistan convened by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA),” the TMC supremo told reporters at the state secretariat.

The Taliban dominated the whole of Afghanistan this month, capturing almost all major towns and cities, including Kabul, following the withdrawal of US forces from the country.

The central government briefing is expected to focus on India’s evacuation mission from Afghanistan as well as the government’s assessment of the developing situation in Afghanistan.
