Indore: A video of a young woman allegedly being removed from the stage after she raised slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Jai Shri Ram’ during Independence Day celebrations has gone viral on social media.

Sources said that the incident took place on Sunday during an event organized by a local resident Bilal Khan in Rajbada area of the city.

After the video went viral on social media, BJP MLA Malini Laxman Singh Gaur on Wednesday demanded legal action against the persons responsible for removing the woman from the stage and said “Taliban culture” will not be allowed in the country.

In the video, the girl is raising slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and then ‘Jai Jai Shri Ram’.

After this some youths in the audience stand up and start shouting ‘Ya Hussain’.

In the video, some men are then seen arguing with the woman while raising slogans, after which a policeman intervenes and is removed from the stage.

Speaking to reporters, MLA Gaur said, “I have seen this video today. The incident of the girl being thrown off the stage is shameful and we condemn the misbehavior meted out to her.”

He said Talibani culture would not be allowed in this country and legal action should be taken against those who took the girl off the stage.

Gaur said, “People living in India will have to chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’. Those who do not do so should be thrown out of here.”

Sarafa police station in-charge Sunil Sharma said that the woman had expressed her desire to speak during the Independence Day celebrations, but the people present there opposed the controversial part of her speech.

He said the woman remained on the stage for only a few minutes and left immediately after the ruckus, while the organizers of the event brought the situation under control.

Sharma said the police have registered a case against Bilal Khan and others under IPC section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) for organizing the event without the permission of the administration.
