MS Dhoni gifted match-balls to two young fans, says Wasim Jaffer

Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni finally guided his team to the final in IPL 2021 with an unbeaten 18 off six balls to win over Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1 on Sunday (October 10). Dhoni is loved by fans of all age groups across the globe and the former India captain lived up to the hype of being one of the best ‘finishers’ in the world even at the age of 40.

The CSK skipper delighted two of his young fans in his unique way after the game at the Dubai Stadium. Dhoni gifted the match-ball of Qualifier 1, autographed it and threw it into the stands. Both the boy and the girl were dressed in yellow, and both these young fans were overjoyed to receive this gift from the CSK captain.

Former India opener and Dhoni’s teammate Wasim Jaffer lauded Dhoni’s gesture by tweeting a collage picture of the CSK captain and young fans. “MS Dhoni is inspiring the next generation, for generations. #Legend #IPL2021,” Jaffer tweeted.

Dhoni played a great cameo, scoring 18 runs in just 6 balls as CSK beat Delhi Capitals by 4 wickets in the first qualifier. Batting first, DC scored 172/5 in their allotted 20 overs with Prithvi Shaw (60 off 34 balls) and Rishabh Pant (51 not out off 35 balls) scoring half-centuries.

In reply, a brilliant 110-run stand between Ruturaj Gaikwad and Robin Uthappa helped CSK’s team defeat their opponent. While Gaikwad scored 70 runs in 50 balls, Uthappa scored 63 runs in 44 balls to help the ‘Men in Yellow’ meet the target set by the opposition.
