Mumbai Police sets up team to probe “extortion” in Aryan Khan case

Mumbai:

Mumbai Police has deputed police officers to probe complaints of alleged extortion against NCB officials, including zonal director Sameer Wankhede, in the Aryan Khan drug bust case, a senior police officer said on Wednesday.

He said the police is probing four complaints filed by independent witness Prabhakar Cell, advocates Sudha Dwivedi and Kanishk Jain and Nitin Deshmukh in the NCB case.

All complaints have been clubbed together. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the police recorded the statements of SAIL.

Additional Commissioner of Police (South Zone) Dilip Sawant will supervise the investigation and DCP Hemrajsinh Bagul will assist him as a supervisory officer.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Milind Khetale, Inspector of Police Ajay Sawant, Assistant PI Shrikant Karkar and Sub-Inspector Prakash Gawli will be part of the investigation team.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Vishwas Nangre Patil has ordered an inquiry.
