Mumbai Police said the summons has been sent through an e-mail asking him to appear next Thursday.
A 1985 batch IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre, Mr Jaiswal was appointed as the chief of the Central Bureau of Investigation in May this year for a period of two years.
He held the top post in Mumbai Police and later was Maharashtra Police Chief before being called for central deputation earlier this year.
