No hope of justice in Lakhimpur case till Ajay Mishra becomes minister: AAP MP Sanjay Singh

New Delhi: Justice in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case is not possible as long as the father of accused Ashish continues to be a Union minister, AAP MP Sanjay Singh on Sunday demanded the dismissal of Ajay Kumar Mishra from the post of Minister of State for Home. .

He alleged that the BJP and the Yogi Adityanath government tried their best to save Mishra’s son Ashish, but he had to be arrested as the Uttar Pradesh government was left with no other option after the Supreme Court’s intervention in the matter.

Singh, who was camping in Uttar Pradesh, said in a video message, “As long as Ajay Mishra remains the Minister of State for Home, justice cannot be done in this matter.”

Late on Saturday night, Ashish was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Police after nearly 12 hours of questioning, and produced before a local court, which granted him 14 days in connection with the October 3 violence in Lakhimpur during a farmers’ protest. sent to judicial custody.

Eight people, including four farmers and a journalist, were killed in this incident of violence.

Ashish was made an accused in an FIR, alleging that he was one of the vehicles that rammed four farmers protesting the visit of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya to the area.

“The BJP and Adityanath ji’s government tried its best to save Ajay Mishra’s son.

However, after the Supreme Court’s rebuke, he was questioned and arrested as there was no other option left,” the Aam Aadmi Party leader said.

Hitting out at the central government, Singh also questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on the Lakhimpur violence and asked why Ajay Kumar Mishra has not been sacked as the minister of state for home yet.

“This incident of crushing the farmers like insects after India’s independence reminds us of the rule of General Dyer???

Didn’t he (Prime Minister) see those pictures?
