A man was lynched to death by the husband and other family members of a woman in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district on Thursday. In a set of videos filmed and shared on social media by the accused, at least six people were seen pinning the man and brutally thrashing him with sticks.
After this, the accused threw the body of Jagdish Meghwal of Prempura village in front of his house as per the complaint of the victim’s father.
The video also showed one of the accused pressing his knee into the victim’s chest while others kept on beating him.
Jagdish’s father Banwarilal Meghwal said, “Prempura residents Vinod, Mukesh, Lalchand alias Rameshwar, Sikandar and Dilip Rajput had come on two motorcycles. They threw Jagdish’s body in front of our house. I tried to catch him but he Wasn’t breathing.” .
Police said a case has been registered against 11 people, of whom three have already been arrested.
Hanumangarh police said, “A case has been registered and three accused have been arrested. We are on the lookout for others.”

Mr. Banwarilal said that Jagdish had left the house at around 1.30 pm on Thursday saying that he was going to Suratgarh. He said that the accused may have kidnapped her and thrashed her to death on her way home.
Earlier, the villagers staged a sit-in in front of the police station and said that the person’s body would not be cremated until the accused were arrested.
