Petrol, Diesel Price Today: Petrol and diesel prices hit new record highs on Saturday, October 9, as rates were hiked for the fifth consecutive day. In Mumbai, petrol prices have now crossed Rs 110 after rising 29 paise to Rs 109.83 per liter, and diesel prices have crossed Rs 100 – currently being sold at Rs 100.29 per litre. Of the four metro cities, Mumbai has the highest fuel rates, according to state-run oil refiners. Fuel rates vary from state to state due to Value Added Tax or VAT.
