PM Narendra Modi talks to Japan’s new PM Fumio Kishida

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday spoke to the newly-elected Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida and said that he looks forward to working with him to further strengthen the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership.

Japan’s parliament on Monday elected Kishida as prime minister.

In a tweet, Modi said, “Spoke with His Excellency Fumio Kishida to congratulate him on taking over as Prime Minister of Japan. I wish to further strengthen the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership and enhance cooperation in India.” I look forward to working with him for the -Pacific region.”
