Lucknow: Congress General Secretary and party’s UP in-charge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Sunday raised questions on the safety of common man in her parliamentary constituency Varanasi, referring to the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath.

Addressing her first public meeting-Kisan Nyay rally, seen as an election bugle at Jagat Ram Inter College in Rohinia, Varanasi, Priyanka claimed that no one, including poor, deprived, Dalit women, is safe under the Narendra Modi government. Is. He again accused the PM of favoring his handful of billionaire friends.

Priyanka started her Varanasi journey on a religious note and started a temple spree. He first visited the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple and took the blessings of Lord Shiva followed by Durgakund temple on the occasion of Navratri.

Beginning her speech with shlokas, the Congress leader claimed that she was fasting on the fourth Navratri day and said the country is about faith. “Here, farmers feed the citizens, and their sons guard the country’s borders. But when some of them are killed in incidents like Lakhimpur Kheri, their families lose hope of justice.”

Attacking the PM, Priyanka said that the country is neither his nor the property of his ministers. “This country belongs to all of you. If you are not aware then you will not be able to save your country and yourself. You (farmers) have made this country.”

Taking a jibe at the Prime Minister, he said that despite visiting Lucknow around the same time, he did not get time to meet the families of the victims. Priyanka said, “The Prime Minister keeps visiting countries, but he could not go to console the bereaved families of Lakhimpur Kheri in their hour of grief.”

Stating that his fight for justice would continue till the suspension of Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni, the Congress leader said that the junior home minister’s son (Ashish Mishra) had gone on the protesting farmers, but he was taken for questioning. The invitation was sent. “The Chief Minister (Yogi Adityanath) is protecting him… what is this?”

He attacked PM Modi for not interacting with farmers who have been protesting for months against three controversial agricultural laws. “Farmers are opposing the three laws because they know that Modi’s corporate friends will snatch their land if the three agriculture laws are implemented,” Vadra said.

Calling people, especially farmers, to fight for their rights, the Congress general secretary said, “Those who call you aurolankaris (protesters) and terrorists force you to get justice. We are Congress workers. We are not afraid of anyone. Put us in jail, kill us, but we will keep fighting for justice.

He said, ‘If you want to bring change, come with me, fight together and change this government. I won’t stop until I bring a change here.”

Challenging the ruling BJP’s issue of development, Priyanka asked people whether development has reached their doorstep in the present government. “Just ask yourself, how much have you grown under the BJP rule. If not, join us to replace this government,” she said. He also targeted the government over rising fuel prices and other items.
