Raksha Bandhan Puja Ritual 2021:

Sisters have to make Rakhi plate. You need a small diya, akshat (rice mixed with turmeric), kumkum, sweets and rakhi.

Pray with your whole family. Perform a small puja in your home temple.

After worshiping God. Place a small wooden platform on the floor and apply Rangoli all around. Make your brother sit on the stage.

Then both of you should pray for each other’s well being and long life.

Apply kumkum tilak on your brother’s forehead.

Then tie rakhi on his right wrist.

Wave the place of Aarti in front of him in a circular form.

Put the Akshat on his head.

Give sweets to brother.

Politely accept the gift he has bought for you.

The manner in which the rituals are performed may differ from region to region, but the principles remain the same.
