Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah arrived in Dubai on Sunday (September 19) with his wife and sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan ahead of the resumption of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Defending champions MI will take on MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings with the first game in Dubai on Sunday.
MI cricketers apart from Bumrah and Sanjana, including skipper Rohit Sharma and his family and Suryakumar Yadav, on Saturday (September 11) after the fifth and final Test between India and England in Manchester was canceled due to the COVID-19 scare. Arrived in UAE. Not all MI cricketers have entered a six-day quarantine before being allowed to train with the rest of their teammates.
Sanjana Ganesan, who will resume her commitments with the host broadcasters Star Sports in the UAE on Sunday (September 12) posted some beautiful pictures from their hotel room while serving quarantine.

The official website of the franchise issued a statement which read, “Mumbai Indians flew their three Indian crew members, Captain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav to Abu Dhabi on a private charter flight.”
“The trio, along with their families, arrived this morning and will now undergo a strict 6-day quarantine starting today as per the IPL guidelines. All the members had returned negative RT PCR results before departure. A fresh RT PCR test was conducted on arrival in Abu Dhabi, which also came out negative,” it further added.

The 13th season of the IPL, which was postponed in May this year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, will resume on Sunday.
