Ms Vadra, 49, said on Monday that she was arrested when she was on her way to the UP district.
Today, Talking to NB, he reiterated that he was “being held illegally”. He further said, once again, that he has been arrested while no action has been taken against the Union Minister’s son, who is an accused.
He further questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi whether he would visit the district where movement and mobile internet usage has been banned after Sunday’s violence. “Without any order or FIR, I have been detained for more than 28 hours,” Ms Vadra said in a tweet.
Several opposition leaders, including Akhilesh Yadav, were detained on Monday amid widespread protests.
Farmers in Haryana, Punjab and Delhi also demonstrated and demanded action against the minister’s son.
However, Mr Mishra has denied that he was in the car that allegedly had eight people. “I was not in the car. I was at my ancestral home in Banveerpur village where a wrestling match was being organized. I was there from morning till the end of the event.” He told NB.
