Delhi Capitals’ Rishabh Pant hits two sixes with one hand during IPL 2021 Qualifier 1 vs CSK.© BCCI/IPL
Rishabh Pant led from the front to take Delhi Capitals to a total of 172 runs Against Chennai Super Kings in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2021 in Dubai. He reached his half-century off the last ball of the innings and remained unbeaten on 51 to take the team to a big total after a mini collapse in the middle overs. Prithvi Shaw gave Delhi a strong start as he completed his half-century in just 27 balls, despite the pair of Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer falling cheaply.
But Shaw was soon dismissed for 60 and this put the pairing of Pant and Shimron Hetmyer in the middle. The left-arm pair first batted with maturity to get the innings back on track and then came up with a vicious attack in the death overs.
Pant delighted the fans with his trademark single-handed shots which created maximum impact. In the 16th over, he hit a full toss off Shardul Thakur with a one-arm swing at mid-wicket.
In the final over, Pant hit a full delivery from Dwayne Bravo straight over his head and the shot was replayed and one hand went off the handle.
Celebrating Pant’s valor, these two shots rocked Twitter

Earlier in the match, MS Dhoni won the toss and invited Delhi Capitals to bat. CSK bowlers in the form of Shreyas Iyer and Shikhar Dhawan found early breakthroughs but half-centuries from Pant and Shaw helped last year’s runners-up reach a target they would like to defend.
