Brazilian football veteran and three-time World Cup winner Pelé has made a sensational confession that although he was married three times, they had many affairs – as many as they can count. Pelé admits that he has taught so many children that he is not even aware of their existence.
According to the British tabloid, The Sun, Pelé says in the new Netflix documentary: “In all honesty I had a few cases, some of which resulted from children, but I only learned about them later.”
Of all known children, Pelé gave birth to seven children including daughter Sandra Machado, whom Pelé did not recognize as her child despite a 1996 court ruling that she was his daughter. Pelé gave birth to five children from the first two marriages – wives Rosemary dos Rees Cholby and Assyria Lemos Sixes – and children Kelly (age 50), Edinho (50), Jennifer (42), and twins Joshua and Celeste (24).
Pelé further claimed in the documentary That his wife and girlfriend knew about his infidelity. He said: “My first wife, first girlfriend, knew about it. I never lied ”
Sandra, who died of cancer in 2006, was the result of an illicit romance with housewife Anisia Machado. In 1968, 52-year-old daughter Flavia was born to journalist Lenita Kurtz.
“My first wife, first girlfriend, knew about it. I never lied, “Pelé revealed
While this may be true, playing the field was a one-way street for Pelé. Maria da Graca Xuxa – a 57-year-old former model who began seeing Pelé when she was just 17 – revealed last month: “They said it was an open relationship, but only open to them.”
In the Netflix film, simply entitled Pelé, South Americans show a lack of arrogance that is usually associated with hunting footballers.
