On Thursday, a day after advancing to the second round of the ongoing Thailand Open, Kidambi Srikanth confirmed that he would not take part in the tournament. Shutler confirmed the development on his official Twitter account and said that he had been advised to rest due to a stretch in his calf muscles.
Srikanth tweeted, “It is very sad to tell all of you that I have been advised to pull out of the Thailand Open due to a hamstring injury to the calf. I will be fit for the Thailand leg next week by next week Looking forward, ”Srikanth tweeted.

The world number 14 was played horn against Malaysia’s Li Zi Jia in the second round, but after the Indian shuttler exited, Jia advanced to the next stage.
Srikanth entered the second round of the Thailand Open after an easy win over compatriot Saurabh Verma on Wednesday, which he closed out in straight games.
After Srikanth’s exit, Saina Nehwal is the only Indian to participate in the singles event of the tournament. She would go to court later in the day for a second-round clash against local star Busanan Ongbramungfan.
