Madison Keys to miss Australian Open after testing positive Kovid-19

American Madison Keys said on Thursday that it tested positive for the Kovid-19 and will miss the Australian Open in Melbourne next month.

The number 16 woman in the world said she had returned positive results due to moving to Australia and is now self-isolated at her home.

The first Grand Slam of the year is to be played from February 8-21.

The 25-year-old tweeted, “I am very disappointed to not be able to play in the coming weeks after training hard in the off-season and knowing Tennis Australia and did so much of the tour to do these events.”

Earlier, former UK world number one Andy Murray tested positive for the virus, leaving his Australian Open participation in doubt.
