Srinagar: Mother of government school principal Supinder Kaur, who was shot dead by terrorists, requested that she should also be killed as she cannot live without her daughter. “What did he do to you? Why did you kill him? I am no longer able to live. Kill me,” she said, crying over the shocking death of her daughter. “She was a teacher. They should have spared him by killing me. He has small children,” said the woman with tears rolling down her cheeks as relatives tried to console her.
The body of the deceased teacher will be cremated on Friday as her elder sister will come from Chandigarh. Meanwhile, the head of a Sikh organization – All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSSCC) – Jagmohan Singh Raina said that the killings were part of a conspiracy to create rift between the majority and minority communities in Kashmir.
He asked Sikh youths working in various government departments to boycott duty and sit at home till their safety is ensured. Singh also asked the members of the majority Muslim community to intervene and secure the lives of the members of the minority community.
Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Budgam President Santpal Singh said that a woman has been murdered and no religion has allowed the killing of civilians. “We request the majority community to support us in identifying the killers,” he said.
An elderly Sikh man said that they have been living with the majority community in Kashmir during the last 32 years of militancy. “If the majority community doesn’t support us now, it will be difficult to live here,” he said.
