Team India’s opener and Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has said that all-rounder Hardik Pandya can start bowling by next week and the physio is working with him regularly.
Mumbai Indians finished fifth in IPL 2021 on Friday. The team ended their IPL 2021 campaign with a 42-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) but failed to qualify for the playoffs. In the second phase of the tournament, Mr. Hardik did not bowl a single ball And he kept on fighting even with a bat in his hand.
“Yeah, look at his bowling, he hasn’t bowled yet. The physio, trainer and medical team are working on his bowling. As of now, all I know is that he hasn’t bowled a single ball yet. , but we wanted to take it. It’s a game in a game and see where it stands. He didn’t even bowl against SRH, but you know, he’s getting better day by day. He’s next week Might be able to bowl till now, who knows? The doctors and physio will be able to give an update on that.” Rohit said during the post-match virtual press conference.
“As far as his batting is concerned, yes he will be disappointed but we know his quality. He is a quality player, no doubt about it. Personally, he won’t be happy with his batting, but the team and I have faith in his ability. He is hitting the ground every time. Players like him are just an innings away from coming back to their natural way. If I have to put everything together, I have confidence in her ability and I am sure she will be a huge asset.” she added.
Mumbai Indians scored 235 runs in 20 overs against SRH on the back of stellar performances from Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav.
“We didn’t just play as a team and collectively as a group, we didn’t come together and that was the main reason behind us qualifying for the playoffs. When you want to win games and tournaments, you have to Collective play needs performance. We don’t rely on one or two individuals at any stage, we always rely on everyone. It didn’t happen this year and it was disappointing.” Rohit said.

“It is a different team here and it will be a different team in the T20 World Cup. What we do here is different from there. There is a very mixed understanding between the two teams, all six or seven players. We are here, wanted to score a good run but it didn’t happen. You saw some great performances from Suryakumar and Ishaan against SRH. When you talk about the T20 World Cup, there will be some practice games, people can get back to their rhythm and see what we can do there.” she added.
