Vodafone Idea has finally brought WiFi calling or Vo WiFi services to Delhi. These services were already launched in Mumbai, Kolkata and Gujarat.
The re-cultivation process was started by Vi again last year to make 4G available across India. Telco previously stated, “VoWiFi allows customers to make calls using any Wi-Fi network and VoWiFi also allows users to make calls without a mobile network or a weak mobile network.”
The company is expected to expand the WiFi service across India, but no official communication has been made with the telecom company.
To take advantage of the WiFi calling service, customers will be given a 4G SIM and a compatible handset that supports VoWiFi calling, and also a WiFi connection to connect to calls.
In a tweet, Vi’s customer care page had earlier shared that there are compatible devices or smartphones for WiFi calling, – RedmiNote 7 Pro, Redmi8A Dual, Oneplus 8T, Oneplus 8, Oneplus 8Pro, Redmi9, Redmi9 Power, Redmi9A, Redmi9i, RedmiK20 Pro, RedmiNote 7, RedmiNote 8 Pro, RedmiY3, Redmi7A, Redmi9 Prime. Poco M2, Poco M2 Pro, Poco X3, Poco C3 also support Vi’s WiFi calling.
Users may need to enable VoLTE on their SIM profile to enable VoLiFi. After VOLTE is enabled, users need to go to the SIM card and network, look for their 4G SIM and then go to Make Call using WiFi and turn it on.
Apart from Vi, other telecoms like Airtel, Jio and BSNL also provide internet calling facility.
Vi has also launched popular video-on-demand or PVOD pay-per-view services in association with Hungama digital platform that allows users to rent new movies starting at Rs 60.
