The swearing-in ceremony of Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel will be held tomorrow at 1:30 pm

Gandhinagar: The swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel will be held on Thursday (September 16) at 1:30 pm at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar.

Gujarat CMO tweeted, “Swearing-in ceremony of the new cabinet of Chief Minister Shri @Bhupendrapbjp will be held tomorrow, 16th September, 2021 at 1.30 PM at Raj Bhavan, Gandhinagar.”

Patel succeeded in the past CM Vijay Rupani resigned from his post Last week. This was followed by a meeting of the BJP’s legislature to decide on the next chief minister, which was attended by Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Prahlad Joshi as the party’s central observers in Gujarat.

Patel, seen as the shelter of former Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, is a BJP MLA from Ghatlodia constituency. He won the 2017 Gujarat Assembly elections defeating Congress candidate Shashikant Patel. He was part of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority.

Notably, elections to the 182-member Gujarat Assembly are to be held by December 2022.
